All in All 05:25
Lord, I submit my all in all to You ... to You – Nothing I keep, to claim as my own. Oh, walk with my feet, wherever You want to go ... to go. And work with my hands, whatever Your will commands. Chorus I will submit my life unto You – Almighty God, and Lord of all lords! I will commit my whole soul to You – Jesus, my Savior, and King of all kings – For You are the All in all things – You are the All in all things! Jesus, I lift my voice in praise to You ... to You. Prepare my lips to tell about You. Oh, let Your Word ever be flowing out of me ... of me. For Your timeless Song, is always so sweet and new. *** Chorus ***
2.
What a fellowship, what a joy divine – Leaning on the everlasting arms. What a blessedness, what a peace is mine – Leaning on the everlasting arms. Chorus Leaning – leaning – Safe and secure from all alarms! Leaning – leaning – Leaning on the everlasting arms. O, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way – Leaning on the everlasting arms. O, how bright the path grows from day to day – Leaning on the everlasting arms. ~~~Chorus~~~ What have I to dread, what have I to fear – Leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near – Leaning on the everlasting arms. ~~~Chorus~~~
3.
In shady green pastures, so rich and so sweet – God leads His dear children along; Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet – God leads His dear children along. Chorus Some through the waters – some through the flood – Some through the fire, but all through the Blood. Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song In the night season, and all the day long. Sometimes on the mount, where the sun shines so bright – God leads His dear children along; Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night – God leads His dear children along. ~~~Chorus~~~ Though sorrows befall us, and Satan oppose – God leads His dear children along; Through grace we can conquer – defeat all our foes. God leads His dear children along. ~~~Chorus~~~ Away from the mire, and away from the clay – God leads His dear children along; Away up in glory – eternity’s day – God leads His dear children along. ~~~Chorus~~~

Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him with your voice – let’s make a joyful noise! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him with your hands! Praise Him with a dance! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him in His church! Praise Him in the earth! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Bridge I will sing a new song to You – ‘cause You shine Your Light on everything I do! You have lifted me, and freed me from the pit! Light me with Your Fire, and help me to stay lit! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him you mighty trees! Praise Him blowin’ in the breeze! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him, Oh you mountains! Praise Him you water fountains! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him in this room! Praise Him up on the moon! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! *** Bridge *** Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Praise Him in this place! Praise Him in outer space! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord! Let everything that is – praise the Lord!

Am I a soldier of the cross, a follower of the Lamb? And shall I fear to own His cause, or blush to speak His name? Chorus And when the battle’s over, we shall wear a crown! Yes, we shall wear a crown! Yes, we shall wear a crown! And when the battle’s over, we shall wear a crown, In the New Jerusalem! Wear a crown; wear a crown; wear a bright and shining crown! And when the battle’s over, we shall wear a crown, In the New Jerusalem! Must I be carried to the skies, on flowery beds of ease; While others fought to win the prize, and sailed through bloody seas? ~~~Chorus~~~ Are there no foes, for me to face? Must I not stem the flood? Is this vile world, a friend to grace, to help me on to God? ~~~Chorus~~~ Sure, I must fight, if I would reign; increase my courage, Lord! I’ll bear the toil; endure the pain; supported by Thy Word! ~~~Chorus~~~

Everybody wants another revelation – Something that’s hidden or lost. But the Light has already been given – Revealed in My Word, through the Cross. Chorus But, I still hear you say – “Who’s at the door?” Oh, don’t you know who I Am? For, I have always loved you, with an everlasting love. My loving-kindness drew you, when your life got so rough. I carried you along the path, when you could barely stand – And haven’t I loved you enough, to recognize my Hand? Just like Eve was tricked into believing There were secrets I should let her know – So many of you are still reaching For strange fruit, you think will help you grow. ~~~~Chorus~~~~ So, why won’t you receive what you’ve been given? Like the Israelites, you still want more. But, I’ve already rained down from heaven – All you need to open up the door. ~~~~Chorus~~~~
7.
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found; was blind, but now I see. ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed. The Lord has promised: good to me. His Word my hope secures. He will my shield, and portion be, as long as life endures. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come. ‘Tis grace hath brought me save, thus far, and grace will lead me home. When we’ve been there, ten thousand years, bright, shining as the sun; We’ve no less days, to sing God’s praise, than when we’d first begun.

What a friend we have in Jesus – all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege, to carry everything to God in prayer. Oh, what peace we often forfeit. Oh, what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer. Have we trials and temptations – is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged – take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness – take it to the Lord in prayer. Are we weak and heavy laden – cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior – still our refuge. Take it to the Lord in prayer. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer. In His arms He’ll take and shield thee; thou wilt find a solace there

There’s Light in the Face of Jesus – Light in the Face of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Light – is in the Face of Jesus. There’s Truth in the Word of Jesus – Truth in the Word of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Truth – is in the Word of Jesus. There’s Life in the Blood of Jesus – Life in the Blood of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Life – is in the Blood of Jesus. There’s Hope in the Cross of Jesus – Hope in the Cross of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Hope – is in the Cross of Jesus. There’s Grace in the Face of Jesus – Grace in the Face of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Grace – is in the Face of Jesus. Bridge For it’s God that commanded Light from the dark, to shine into our hearts – And give us the Light – to know the Glory of God in the Face of Jesus. There’s Peace in the Arms of Jesus – Peace in the Arms of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Peace – is in the Arms of Jesus. There’s Joy in the Presence of Jesus – Joy in the Presence of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Joy – is in the Presence of Jesus. There’s Love in the Heart of Jesus – Love in the Heart of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Love – is in the Heart of Jesus. There’s Faith when you Trust in Jesus – Faith when you Trust in Jesus. The only place that you’ll find Faith – is when you Trust in Jesus. There’s God in the Face of Jesus – God’s in the Face of Jesus. The only place that you’ll find God – is in the Face of Jesus. *** Bridge ***

I am Thine, O Lord – I have heard Thy Voice – And it told Thy Love to me. But I long to rise in the Arms of faith – And be closer drawn to Thee. Chorus Draw me nearer – nearer – blessed Lord, To the Cross – where Thou hast died. Draw me nearer – nearer – nearer – blessed Lord, To Thy precious, bleeding side. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord – By the power of grace divine. Let my soul look up, with a steadfast hope – And my will be lost in Thine. ~~~Chorus~~~ There are depths of Love, that I cannot know – ‘Till I cross the narrow sea. There are heights of joy, that I may not reach – ‘Till I rest in peace with Thee. ~~~Chorus~~~

about

This was my debut album, released independently in April of 2010. The meaning of the title "Up From the Roots", is that the music contained in this album was the outcome of my Gospel music upbringing, and it truly came up from my roots. There's was no over-dubbing, cutting or pasting, or blending track segments. It's basically a live recording, because every song on the album was recorded in one take, in my upstairs studio on 7th St. in Goshen, Indiana.
The recording process was deliciously primitive, having no more than 2 - 4 tracks on each song. One track would be a metronome, or a percussion sample. The second track would be the piano (which was miked). The third track would be the vocal. Only one of these songs had a fourth track, which was the Mini-Korg synthesizer track on "What a Friend".
Included are six variations on classic hymns, and four originals: "All in All", "Let Everything That is, Praise the Lord!", "Who's at the Door?" and "In the Face of Jesus".
This album was remastered in May of 2015.
